The solidarity and mutual support between Vietnam and Cambodia are more prominent since the armies and people of the two countries stood side by side defeating the Pol Pot genocide, reviving and rebuilding Cambodia. Overcoming many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam-Cambodia relations have been increasingly strengthened and firmly developed under the motto "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability".
President Ho Chi Minh received Prince Norodom Phurissara, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to visit Vietnam (January 10th, 1968).

General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense and Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia Tea Banh signed the Protocol on defense cooperation the 2020-2024 period and the 2020 cooperation plan between the two ministries on December 20th, 2019, in Hanoi.
On May 20th, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, authorized by the National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Chairman of AIPA 2020, and Mr. Le Peng Long, Secretary- General of the Cambodian National Assembly, co-chaired the handover ceremony of medical masks from Vietnam National Assembly to the National Assembly and the people of Cambodia.
During a working visit to Cambodia, on December 13th, 2019, in Siem Reap province, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam News Agency Le Quoc Minh worked with the Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Neak Neron.
On April 30th, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia gave urgent assistance to Vietnamese and Khmer people in difficult circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic.
