Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Tan Sri Dato’ Johari Bin Abdul and his wife arrived in Hanoi, starting an official visit to Vietnam from October 22, 2024 to October 25, 2024 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Vietnam and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on March 30, 1973, and upgraded them to a Strategic Partnership in August 2015. The multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia has developed well. The two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2023 and will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership in 2025.
The relationship between the two legislative bodies continues to be maintained, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries. In August 2024, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh successfully visited Malaysia, contributing to promoting bilateral relations in general and relations on the parliamentary channel in particular./.
