Mozambican President pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

At the invitation of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam and his spouse, President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and his spouse paid an official visit to Vietnam from September 8 to 10, 2024.

This is the first visit of President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi to Vietnam since taking office in 2015 and the first visit to Vietnam by a Mozambican President in over 17 years. Thereby, it demonstrates Mozambique's desire to further strengthen and promote the traditional friendly cooperative relationship, as well as respect for Vietnam’s role and position in the region and the international arena.

Vietnam and Mozambique have a traditional friendly cooperative relationship, and the two countries maintain good relations through Party and State channels. The two countries established diplomatic relations on June 25, 1975, the day Mozambique declared its independence.

This visit contributes to increasing understanding, political trust and creating new momentum, further deepening the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
