Three officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation have been honoured for their contributions in promoting and implementing the construction of President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in Saint Petersburg city.

Accordingly, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, authorized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, awarded Certificates of Merit to the three individuals to honour their outstanding achievements.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Khoi said that this is the recognition of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, domestic departments and branches for the individuals’ contributions, as well as the recognition of the contributions of the Embassy's collective efforts in implementing the general work of the representative agency.
He said that the construction of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh has been implemented over the past five years with the participation of many officials of the representative agency, some of whom have returned home.
The statue of President Ho Chi Minh was inaugurated in Saint Petersburg on June 30, 2023, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the day he first arrived in Petrograd, today Saint Petersburg (June 30, 1923-June 30, 2023). This is an outstanding event in the Vietnam – Russia relationship in 2023.
On this occasion, an embassy official, who has made positive contributions in successfully campaigning for Vietnam to be elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term was also honoured./.
