Speaking at the workshop, Le Quang Tung, 12th PCC alternate member and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stressed that the testament is an invaluable historic document which contains the optimistic spirit of a great people, the quintessence of a great person’s ideology, morality and soul.

“President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings in his testament include plentiful and profound contents, from the country’s work to the world’s, and recommendations for leaders and people, from the elderly to the young, about present and future work,” said Mr. Tung. “That is Uncle Ho’s wishes, affection, will and responsibility towards the fatherland, people and revolutionary process.”

Nearly 50 presentations from researchers, scientists, agencies’ leaders and agencies’ managers were reported at the workshop, focusing on diverse aspects of the testament, including the process of the testament writing, the announcement and publishing of the testament, the contents of the testament, and assessment of the testament in terms of the historic value and significance in the orientations of the Vietnamese revolutionary career, and the implementation of the testament over the past 50 years and in the future.

The presentations also confirmed the Vietnamese Party’s, State’s and people’s achievements over the past 50 years thanks to the testament implementation, especially in Party building; strengthening of cadres’ and Party members’ morality, style and virtue; issues relating to farmers, agriculture and rural areas; policies for revolutionary contributors; and an increase of national defence and security, as well as environmental protection in the period of increased industrialization and modernization and international integration./.
