The exhibition aims to welcome the success of the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, said Hoang Vinh Bao, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, on November 14 th .

According to Deputy Minister Bao, the exhibition gathers precious pictures made by pieces of Dong Nai pottery and some photos of the pottery pictures which illustrate the portraits of 21 APEC member economies’ leaders.

The portraits of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will also be exhibited.

The pottery pictures are the work and creative achievements of the art project carried out in 2016 and 2017 by the Chien Thang Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh city-based OSSSO Trading And Service Company, and a group of painters and craftsmen in Dong Nai province.

With colourful pottery fired at high temperature, talented craftsmen skillfully cut the pottery into suitable pieces before manually combining them accurately in each small detail, producing wonderful portraits which depict the natural and typical expressions of each character.

The frames of the pictures are designed using harmonious colours, helping elevate the beauty and formality of the pictures, which are appreciated both for quality and artistic value by authorized agencies and experts.

During the recent APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, the Prime Minister used many pictures as presents for leaders of some APEC member economies. The rest will be presented by the Prime Minister through embassies of countries and territories in Vietnam.

Photos of the presented pictures and the remaining pictures will be on show at the exhibition, introducing to the public a new type of portraits made by combining pieces of Dong Nai pottery.

After Hanoi, the exhibition will be held in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh city to celebrate the success of APEC 2017 and serve the audience./.
