The event drew the participation of representatives of the Mexican Workers' Party, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoanh Nam, officials and employees of the Embassy.

The President Ho Chi Minh Monument was built in 2009 in the Freedom of Ethnic Park, the historical center of Mexico City, based on a photo taken by artist Dinh Dang Dinh when Uncle Ho was working in the Presidential Palace garden. With love and special respect and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, in 2015, right on the 125th anniversary of his birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2015), the government of Cuauhtemoc district, Mexico City coordinated with the Vietnam  Embassy in Mexico to upgrade the monument's campus into a complete and solemn space, including green park and convenient infrastructure for people to visit.

Sincerely offering flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, Mr. Mon affirmed that the monument in the Freedom of Ethnic Park in Mexico City is a vivid proof of the affection of Mexican people for President Ho Chi Minh; symbol of friendship and solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Mexico. He suggested that the Vietnam Embassy in Mexico continue to closely coordinate with the authorities and functional agencies of Mexico City to regularly organize activities to introduce the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, the hero of national liberation, the outstanding culturalist, the aspirator of aspirations for liberation for all colonial peoples, contributing to the common struggle of the world's peoples, for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress; so that the monument space is always lively and meaningful, really a historical and cultural space, a place to store and introduce President Ho Chi Minh, the country and people of Vietnam to the people of Mexico and international friends./.
