Vice Chairman of the Veteran Association of Quang Ngai province Phan Van Thach highlighted: The Directive 05-CT/TW on “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle” is promulgated by the Politburo, affirming that the “Continued acceleration of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle” is an important content of Party building and rectification, which will make contributions to building a politically, ideologically, organizationally, morally pure and strong Party; building qualified and moral cadre staff, preventing and pushing back degradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle, preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, bureaucracy, “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the Party.

With the specific model to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle, all levels of the veteran association of Quang Ngai province have actively emulated the movements, including the "Exemplary veterans", "Building new rural areas and rural civilization”, and “All people protect the national security”, bringing positive results. The provincial veteran association has built 13 models in 13 communes which involved solving urgent problems in the people, contributing to stabilizing political security at grassroots level such as the model of anti-superstition group in Long Hiep commune; "Veterans participate in conserving public order" in Pho Thanh commune, Duc Pho district; and "Veterans protect environment” in the communes of Hanh Thuan, Binh Duong, Nghia Thuan.

Besides, hundreds of members donated 37,000m2 of land and contributed 17,123 working days to build new rural areas; searching and relocating the remains of 19 martyrs into cemeteries; consolidating 53 self-governing groups on traffic safety, mobilising supporters to build 17 houses of gratitude worth VND850 million, presenting 660 Tet gifts to poor veterans, worth VND262 million. Encouraging cadres and members of the veteran association to contribute more than VND200 million to overcome environmental problems in four central provinces.

On the other hand, the provincial veteran association is always creative in its activities, in order to spread the works according to Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and in the community, such as holding meetings, appraising the prestigious veterans. The veterans who are a typical fisherman in production, involved in protecting sovereignty, seas and islands; Female typical veterans in the anti-American resistance war. Thereby, arousing and encouraging generations of veterans continue to contribute to the national construction and defence, preventing and pushing back degradation in political ideology, morality and lifestyle, preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, bureaucracy, “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the Party.

Thanks to these achievements, the veteran association was awarded certificate of merit and the first Labour Medal by the Prime Minister and was rewarded by the Chairman of Quang Ngai People's Committee./.
