Overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 133rd birthday

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach emphasized that this year, in spite of wars and difficulties, the Embassy still tried to coordinate with the Vietnamese community in Odessa to organize a meeting to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday as every year to pay respect and infinite gratitude to Uncle Ho.

The Ambassador also thanked the representatives of the city of Odessa and the artists who came to participate and contribute musical and puppet shows to celebrate the great holiday of the Vietnamese community, expressing their love and the respect of the Ukrainian people for President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of Vietnam. The Ambassador wished the Vietnam-Ukraine friendship to be more and more sustainable.

On behalf of the Odessa provincial government, Mr. Artur Mikhailovich Brednhiev, Foreign Affairs Advisor of the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, warmly congratulated the Vietnamese community in Ukraine on the great national holiday, emphasizing that President Ho Chi Minh is a hero who contributed a lot to the country and noting that not every nation is fortunate to have such great people.

Therefore, President Ho Chi Minh is admired by the world; his statue and name are placed in many countries around the world; Odessa is one of the cities that was honored to welcome President Ho Chi Minh’s visit in 1957.

At the event, Ukrainian artists and the Vietnamese community had many musical performances praising Ho Chi Minh and the love for the homeland, the country, and the friendship between Vietnam and Ukraine.

At the ceremony, participants also enjoyed a puppet play interpreting Nguyen Dinh Chieu's poem Luc Van Tien, which was translated into Ukrainian and performed by Ukrainian artists./.
