The award ceremony was held on May 14 to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 134th birthday, 113 years since Uncle Ho left the country to seek a way for national liberation, and the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, in recent times, women in the city have raised their awareness of learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, making it a regular work.
In three years of implementation, there have been many creative models in following Uncle Ho's moral example, especially charitable social activities, savings, and support of particularly difficult circumstances.
In particular, the launch of "Month with Women in Action" in October 2023 and the debut of honorary members of the Vietnam Women’s Union with the participation of 1,000 men, helped prevent violence and promote gender equality. The "Excellent Female Entrepreneur in Ho Chi Minh City" award was created to build motivation for the development of the women's startup movement, recognizing the contributions of female entrepreneurs to the development of the city and the country.
The "Loving Arms" program has raised more than VND40 billion, with more than 1,200 "Godmothers" to care for over 1,600 children, a pivotal effort to support children to overcome difficulties and continue to study, play and develop.
The "Ao Dai of Love" model with 131 stores was built by the Union at all levels, receiving more than 50,000 sets of Ao Dai, giving away nearly 30,000 sets to more than 20,000 members and women./.
