A delegation of outstanding ethnic minority students in 2023 reported their achievements to Uncle Ho at Ba Dinh Square on December 26.

The event was attended by Ms. Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister, Deputy Head of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs; representative of agencies under the Ministry of Education and Training and Central Agency of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; and 143 outstanding pupils and students, and youngsters.

This is an annual activity organized by the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, to honor the studious tradition of the Vietnamese people; praising and encouraging the spirit of striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges to achieve excellent and typical achievements in studying, training and participating in social activities of ethnic minority pupils, students and youngsters.
On behalf of the delegation, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, a student from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, respectfully reported to Uncle Ho about the excellent results achieved by ethnic minority pupils and students in 2023. As many as 143 ethnic minority pupils, students and youngsters honored this year come from 51 ethnic groups. Most localities in ethnic minority-inhabited areas have honoured students.

Among 143 outstanding pupils, students and youngsters, 38 students win first, second, and third prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition; 4 students win first, second, and third prizes in national science and technology competition; 30 students scored 28 points or more in the entrance exam to university or were directly admitted to universities; 2 students win Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medals in national sports competitions; and 29 were outstanding and typical ethnic minority youngsters in various fields.

Before the heroic spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the delegation promised to continue to strive to well implement his teachings.
The delegation vowed to make efforts to study and practice to make their contribution to the cause of building and protecting the country of Vietnam./.
