Nguyen Sinh Sac - Nguyen Tat Thanh Monument inaugurated in Quy Nhon city

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a 12th PCC member, Secretary of the Binh Dinh provincial Party Committee, reviewed the status and career of President Ho Chi Minh and said that Binh Dinh province was extremely proud to be the land where Nguyen Tat Thanh lived and studied during the period from May 1909 to August 1910.

He also reiterated the event of Nguyen Tat Thanh saying good-bye to his father, Nguyen Sinh Sac, in Binh Dinh province before he returned to Hue, and a few months later Uncle Ho went to the Southern region and left on a trip abroad to find a way to save the country.

"Although the days Nguyen Tat Thanh lived in Binh Dinh province, compared to all his life and revolutionary cause, are not many, that is an important landmark, contributing to form his thought and will of saving the country. That is the honour of Binh Dinh province," he said.

On this occasion, the province inaugurated the "Nguyen Sinh Sac - Nguyen Tat Thanh" Monument, a work of sculptor Vu Dai Binh in Hanoi, and his colleagues.

The copper statue is 15.5m high, including the pedestal of 4.7m high, which covers an area of 3.125 square meters.

Behind the monument is a 76m long stone embossment and its highest position is 14.5 meters, describing the general context of Vietnam, invaded by the French colonialists in early 20 th  century, and the journey from Uncle Ho's birthplace to places he stopped on the road to the Southern region before he went abroad to find a way to save the country.

"This is the first monument in Vietnam about Uncle Ho and his father. The VND118 billion-monument is a historical-cultural work with great political and humanitarian significance, showing the attachment and harmony of paternal love and love of the country. It also shows the deep feelings, loyalty and unbounded gratitude of the Party, authority and people of Binh Dinh province for the party and beloved Uncle Ho," Mr. Tung confirmed.

Speaking at the event, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh said that the monument is a cultural work with great political, historical and humanitarian significance, expressing the thoughts of people in Binh Dinh province and all over the country towards Uncle Ho.

"I hope that the Party, administration and people of Binh Dinh province will manage, preserve and promote the value of the monument in a practical way, contributing to educating the revolutionary tradition of the party, the nation, the great example of Uncle Ho for officials, Party members and people, especially the younger generation. Thereby, the patriotism, love of people, belief in the Party and promotion the resilient and glorious tradition of Binh Dinh province and the heroic Vietnamese people are tempered," she stressed./.
