The Military Region 2 General Staff on February 6 launched the "Tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" at Battalion 97 in Chu Hoa commune, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province.

At the launching ceremony, Battalion 97 under the Military Region 2 General Staff, delegates, along with a large number of cadres, soldiers and youth union members and young people in Chu Hoa commune planted more than 5,000 trees of all kinds, in which, mainly timber trees, shade trees, contributing to preventing natural disasters, regulating the climate, improving the ecological environment, minimizing negative impacts caused by climate change; consolidating the unit's landscape, improving the material and spiritual life of soldiers.
Major General To Quang Hanh, Deputy Chief of General Staff of Military Region 2, Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Staff of Military Region 2, requested agencies and units of the General Staff of Military Region 2 to study scientific tree planting plans with specific plans for shade trees, fruit trees, and timber trees.
Tree planting must be combined with tree care and protection, actively build the landscape of agencies and units; communicating and educating the benefits of tree planting and afforestation; and raising awareness and responsibility of officers and soldiers of tree planting and care./.
