Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai affirmed that the fact that President Ho Chi Minh’s statue is solemnly placed here has become a symbol of the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Chile, demonstrating the extremely valuable affection that the Party, State and People of Chile reserve for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.
He sincerely thanked Chilean comrades and friends for their love for Vietnam. Mr. Hai affirmed that the Party Committee, authorities and people of Ho Chi Minh City will make every effort to preserve and nurture the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Chile.

Cerro Navia district chief Mauro Tamayo Rozas said that Ho Chi Minh Park was built according to the wishes of the local people.
He shared that the Chilean people greatly admire the strength and solidarity of the Vietnamese people to overcome difficulties in the wars for independence and bring the country to its current impressive development level. Mr. Mauro Tamayo Rozas also wished to soon promote many bilateral cooperation programs between Chile and Vietnam in general, and Cerro Navia district and Ho Chi Minh City in particular./.
