On April 14, within the framework of an official friendly visit to Cuba, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and his delegation offered flowers at the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh in Havana, Cuba, a symbol of the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The construction of the monument and campus began in February 2003, and was inaugurated on May 19, 2003 on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s 113th birthday.
The monument to President Ho Chi Minh was designed to clearly demonstrate the simple personality of President Ho Chi Minh as well as Vietnam's outstanding efforts in the fight for independence and national unification.
Offering incense at the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his thanks to Cuba and architect Joel Diaz for his very special affection for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh; as well as the construction and preservation of the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh.
“All the good things about President Ho Chi Minh and the great things in the resistance wars of the Vietnamese people are expressed in this work, and the construction demonstrates the special friendship between the Vietnamese and the Cuban people,” said Deputy Prime Minister Quang.
Deputy Prime Minister wished Mr. Joel Diaz, who devoted all his efforts to the President Ho Chi Minh Monument project, good health, adding that he hoped the designer would continue to spread stories about President Ho Chi Minh and the friendship and special cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba./.
