Completing legal framework for protecting President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site

Presenting the proposal, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, stated that the ordinance aims to complete the legal framework to best fulfill the mission of preserving and ensuring the absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh's remains. It also seeks to enhance the management and protection of the Mausoleum Relic Site, promptly addressing legal gaps to ensure strict protection and effective management of the site in the new context.

Once passed, the ordinance will further highlight the political and cultural significance of the Mausoleum Relic Site, contributing to the promotion of President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy, life, career, ideology, morality, and style.

The draft ordinance outlines regulations on the long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh’s remains, the management and safeguarding of structures and areas within the Mausoleum Relic Site, as well as the organization of activities within the site. It also defines the responsibilities, authority, policies, and obligations of agencies, units, organizations, and individuals involved in managing and protecting the site.

The President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site encompasses structures and areas of exceptional importance in terms of national defense and security, as well as extraordinary historical and cultural value. These include the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square, the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street in Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at Da Chong in Ba Vi District, Hanoi (also known as K9), and supporting facilities dedicated to the long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh's remains.

During the session, 100% of the Standing Committee members present voted in favor of the draft Ordinance on the Management and Protection of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic Site in principle. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong urged relevant agencies to incorporate the Standing Committee's feedback to further refine the draft ordinance./.
