A ceremony was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina on October 27 to inaugurate the embellishment of the square named Vietnam and a bronze plaque with President Ho Chi Minh's biography placed under his statue in District 12 in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.

The meaningful activity was carried out to mark the 48th anniversary of Vietnam Argentina diplomatic relations (October 25, 1973 - October 25, 2021).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Duong Quoc Thanh highlighted President Ho Chi Minh's great contributions to the people’s struggle for liberation, opening a new era of development for the peace and national independence of the beautiful country of Vietnam.
He also emphasized President Ho Chi Minh's thought, especially international solidarity, which still has the values of the times and is a guideline for the activities of the Communist Party and State of Vietnam in the process of constructing and developing the country.
Activities to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad are an important part of cultural diplomacy activities in order to strengthen friendship and solidarity with countries around the world.
Ambassador Duong Quoc Thanh highly appreciated the precious affection and support of the government and people of Argentina for Vietnam in the past struggle for national reunification, as well as the construction of economic development today.
The Ambassador affirmed that, after 48 years of diplomatic relations, the two countries continue to strengthen and consolidate the comprehensive partnership on the basis of international solidarity for which President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundation.
On behalf of the government of Vietnam, the Ambassador thanked the authorities of Buenos Aires and District 12 for creating favorable conditions for the embellishment of Vietnam Square, as well as building a bronze plaque with President Ho Chi Minh’s biography, making this place Vietnam’s cultural highlight in Buenos Aires.
The Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the capital Hanoi and Hoan Kiem district for their financial support for the implementation of this project, and hoped that the twin city relationship between Hanoi and Buenos Aires will further develop, contributing to the common relationship between the two countries.
At the event, Argentina's Deputy Minister of Culture Valeria Gonzalez expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, a symbol of the struggle for independence not only of Vietnam but also of oppressed, peace loving peoples around the world.
She affirmed that generations of Argentinian people have always supported the revolutionary cause for Vietnam's national independence and construction initiated by President Ho Chi Minh, and will continue to promote friendship with Vietnam in all fields.
Deputy Minister Gonzalez emphasized that the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Buenos Aires will always be a beautiful symbol of the friendship between the people of Argentina and Vietnam./.
