On December 17, in Tokyo (Japan), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had many bilateral meetings with leaders of ASEAN countries attending the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan cooperation.
At the meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the two sides agreed to evaluate the Vietnam-Malaysia Strategic Partnership as developing very positively.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed his respect and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh. He thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for donating some of President Ho Chi Minh's works and said that some of President Ho Chi Minh's beautiful poems would be translated into Malaysian.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he would send to the Malaysian Prime Minister General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book on Vietnam's economic diplomacy, defense, security and development.
The two sides affirmed their intent to continue to coordinate closely to effectively implement agreements reached by senior leaders, including the results of the official visit to Vietnam by the Prime Minister of Malaysia in July./.
