(CPV) - The conference makes an important contribution to preserving and promoting the heritage values that President Ho Chi Minh left behind, especially in promoting foreign relations between Vietnam and other countries, the Vietnam-Italy friendship, and the close relationship among Communist Parties in the world.

So said Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education, during an international conference in Rome on April 18 to spotlight the significance of the time that President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in Italy in the 1930s.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, President Ho Chi Minh was a genius leader of the Vietnamese revolution. His whole life was devoted to the revolutionary cause of the nation. He left the Vietnamese people an extremely precious legacy: the Ho Chi Minh era; Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. His great contributions were honored by UNESCO: “Ho Chi Minh – National Liberation Hero; Outstanding cultural celebrity of Vietnam".
He added that in the awareness and feelings of the people of the world, Ho Chi Minh's name and cause have become a symbol of the aspiration to fight for peace, independence, freedom and social progress of the working people, and peace-loving people all over the world.
He highlighted the significance of the conference in maintaining and promoting the heritage left by President Ho Chi Minh, especially in fostering relations between Vietnam and other countries, including Italy, as the two sides are celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 10 years of strategic partnership.
He noted that nearly a century ago, President Ho Chi Minh lived, worked and met with international Communist comrades and Italian friends. President Ho Chi Minh left many good impressions in the hearts of the peace-loving Italian people. His revolutionary activities and the help of his Italian friends during this period were of great significance, contributing to the success of the Vietnamese revolution later.
He thanked the Italian side for supporting activities to honour the Vietnamese leader in different localities of Italy. In Italy alone, there are 21 streets named after President Ho Chi Minh. Many research works on President Ho Chi Minh by famous Italian scholars have been published and circulated.
“The activities of honoring President Ho Chi Minh have a very positive impact, bringing understanding and sharing about President Ho Chi Minh's life and career, his contributions to the process of fighting for peace, democracy and progress in the world,” the Party official went on to say./.
