President Ho Chi Minh’s 132nd birthday marked in Hungary

At the opening ceremony of the program, Mr. Góra Balázs, Chairman of the Socialist Party of Zalaegerszeg branch, reviewed the biography and career of President Ho Chi Minh, who, with an indomitable spirit, dedicated his life to the cause of peace, independence and freedom of the nation.

Affirming that President Ho Chi Minh left a great legacy in many fields for Vietnam and humanity, Mr. Góra Balázs emphasized that the saying "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" engraved on the monument is a truth of all times.

Expressing his love and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, Dr. Botz László, President of the Hungarian-Vietnamese Friendship Association, affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Hungary in 1957 laid a solid foundation for the good friendship between the people of Hungary and Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao shared that with affection and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, the country and people of Hungary have given a very special gift to the country and people of Vietnam in the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh. This is not only a masterpiece of culture and art, but also a vivid symbol of the long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and Hungary.

The Ambassador sincerely thanked the attention and support of the authorities and people of Zalaegerszeg city, close friends of Vietnam, for taking care of and preserving the Monument of Uncle Ho.

She wished to further strengthen cooperation with Zalaegerszeg city in the fields of economy, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao and other delegates planted two cherry blossom trees at Uncle Ho's statue park with the hope that Uncle Ho's Monument would be a stopover of every citizen in Zalaegerszeg and will forever be a beautiful symbol of the Vietnam-Hungary friendship./.
