During the festival, children and delegates were informed of activities to care for the children by provinces and cities, as well as outstanding children with excellent academic and practising achievements.

Attending the festival, Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Mass Mobilization, confirmed that the festival was a practical activity to honour members of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation who had achieved excellent results in the organization’s work and children’s movements. “It is also a forum for children to promote solidarity and the spirit of study,” she said.

According to Ms Mai, the Party and State always attach great importance to protecting and educating teenagers and children by issuing a wide range of policies for their development, especially those facilitating their education, healthcare, recreation, physical practice and mental development.

Sending best regards to the children ahead of a new school year, she said she hoped the children would continue to practice well and participate actively in the activities of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation.

During the ceremony, the organizers awarded 54 scholarships to representatives of children across the country.

Being held for the third time, this year's festival attracted some 1,000 children coming from all provinces and cities across the country. This year’s festival is part of activities welcoming the 11 th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, slated for the end of this year./.
