The programme was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Organizing Board for Great Festivals to educate young people in the city to memorialise the great contributions by President Ho Chi Minh who devoted all his life to the struggle for national liberation and unification.

The programme was divided into two parts. The first part included songs and dances telling the story about the man – Nguyen Tat Thanh – who left Nha Rong Port on June 5th 1911 and travelled to discover the pathway to freedom, to be awakened to Marxism-Leninism and become a communist devoted to the entire Vietnamese people. The second part is about the city over the past 40 years./.
